Yes, the Radius SDK collects analytics data for product usage validation.
The following information around analytics data that is captured by LISNR products can be submitted to both Apple and Google Play app stores when submitting an application that contains the Radius SDK:
The Radius SDK communicates with a LISNR endpoint for product and account authorization.
The Radius SDK collects analytics data for product usage validation by sending HTTP posts to a LISNR analytics endpoint.
LISNR does not use collected data for the purpose of serving advertisements.
LISNR does not sell the collected data.
LISNR handles collected data securely and sends to our analytics endpoint via HTTPS.
LISNR analytics data collection occurs during the following instances:
When the user is engaging with the SDK functionality in an application (transmissions and detections).
When the SDK shuts down.
LISNR collects the following analytics data fields of note:
install ID - Unique ID for an application installation
Android ID (for Android)
identifier For Vendor (for iOS)
Microphone access (boolean) - true if application has microphone access, false is not. This is tracked since the Radius SDK receiving functionality requires microphone permissions
For iOS, it may also be required to provide additional information around the need for microphone/record audio permissions. LISNR advises to make end users aware of the following information:
The Radius SDK requires microphone permissions in order to successfully detect incoming tones sent by the Radius product. The SDK filters frequencies above and below those of interest including human speech. At no point does the SDK record payload data sent with the SDK that is provided by our customers.
